Casters: Ferdinand Barbediennne and Achilles Collas
Verso inscribed “F. Barbedienne Fondeur”, and “Marke Achilles Collas”
John stood in a penitential robe, holding a scroll in his left hand and stood on a rocky plinth
Height (without wood base): 56 cm
Good condition
In 1838, French bronze foundry Barbedienne came together with inventor Achille Collas. Together, they created small replicas of famous sculptures using a machine invented by Collas.
Condition:
The bronze is in good condition. The surface has been rubbed away in places. The edges of the wood base have sustained several knocks. Without the base, it is 56 cm tall.
