This c. 1839 sampler / family record from Shelburne, New Hampshire was most likely worked by Caroline H. Ingalls, the oldest daughter of Robert and Rowena (Hills) Ingalls. Stylistically the large four sided widely spaced bold flowering motifs are consistent with other New Hampshire family record samplers from the mid to late 1830s. Silk on linen; 19 ½"x 16 ¾" framed - 17 ½" x 14 ¾" sight
