Description
Attributed to Anthony Gabriel Quervelle (French/American Philadelphia 1789-1856), circa 1825, classical mahogany and mahogany veneer pier table, having a granite top, stenciled anthemion decoration, curved supports with carved acanthus, grapevines and paw feet, the mirror flanked by curved pilasters, the shaped plinth rising on acanthus toupie feet, apparently unmarked. Note: A related table is in the collection of the White House, Washington, D.C. Approx. h. 37.25", w. 43.75", d. 19.5".
Condition
Later granite top, edgewear to mahogany top, loss of silvering to plate, veneer chips and cracks to plinth, losses to carving on feet, frame is structurally sound.
